What They Are and How They Work?
The Transport Canada Flight Dispatcher examinations are the regulatory gateway to becoming a licensed Flight Dispatcher in Canada.
These exams are mandatory for the Generic Licence portion of the Flight Dispatcher certification and are recognized nationwide. They assess your operational knowledge and readiness to support flight operations in accordance with Transport Canada standards.

Features of the exams

These exams measure your mastery of the core knowledge areas required by Transport Canada before beginning on-the-job airline training.

When and Where You Write the Exams
After completing your Flight Dispatcher training, you have two options for writing the Transport Canada exams:
Option A — Write Exams With us

Option B — Book Exams at a Transport Canada Centre
You may also book both exams at any Transport Canada Examination Centre across Canada. We recommend scheduling your exams within 1–2 weeks after course completion for continuity and confidence.

Why These Exams Matter
Transport Canada exams serve as the national standard for flight dispatcher knowledge. Passing them indicates that you have the regulatory understanding and operational foundation required to pursue dispatcher roles with airlines and other aviation operations.
These exams do not grant a licence themselves; they are part of the process that leads to a Transport Canada Generic Flight Dispatcher Licence once both are passed.
Study Support and Preparation
During the Flight Dispatcher Training program, we guide you through the exam content, structure, and question types so you enter each exam with confidence. Our instruction focuses on real exam scenarios and essential decision skills, reducing stress and improving readiness.
While the course equips you with the knowledge base, many candidates also do self-study and practice review after the course to solidify retention before writing the exams.
